I’ve witnessed some pretty crazy storms in the Mini-Cassia area but haven’t always been able to capture them. I was on my way to Burley from the Declo area and spotted this crazy storm brewing over Rupert. This shot was taken on 03-30-2010 – shooting northeast from this location.

This shot was taken while shooting a snowshoeing story at the City of Rocks in January 2008. It was a perfect day with perfect light. We saw lots of wildlife and spent a good half day exploring the area on well marked trails. Many people visit the City of Rocks in the summer but how [...]

Whenever I have a photo shoot in the Hailey, Shoshone or Gooding area I always take the back roads. For me that means taking the old Dietrich Hwy (hwy 26) from the Rupert area. Once I hit Shoshone (and if I’m Hailey bound) its a straight shot north to Hailey. I often stop especially if [...]

It’s that first chill of fall… where the cold morning air pulls a dense fog out of the river. As the morning sun attempts to burn off the misty magenta clouds the geese make one last attempt to splash and play on the cool waters before taking flight to feed in the nearby corn fields. [...]

To get here [...]

The normal flow for this time of year is around 5,000(cfs) and when this photo was taken the flow was at 14,000(cfs). For those who live on the river in the Burley/Rupert sometimes see their back yard partially [...]

Back in our 2007 July/August issue we published a story called “The Snake River Lifestyle” I remember a quote from that article where canyon rim resident Kevin Jones describes how strange the weather can be in the canyon. Back in March of 2008 I actually saw it with my own eyes while crossing the Perrine [...]

I was shooting a skiing competition up at Soldier Mountain Ski Resort in 2008 and like always, on my way home I decided to take some back roads back to highway 20. I was heading east on Wilson Road when I saw this great winter scene. I didn’t even have to get out of the [...]

This is the beautiful Castle Rocks State Park. Located in Almo Idaho next to the famous City of Rocks. This shot while on the deer hunt in the fall of 2008. A good friend Ryan Taylor who has hunted this area all his life gave us one heck of a tour on horseback. We covered [...]
