A few quick and easy additions can enhance your autumn curb appeal in as little as a weekend in between tailgating at your favorite football games. Creating a hocus pocus atmosphere for trick-or-treaters is a great excuse not to sweep up the fall leaves; just add autumn foliage, straw bales, and weather-resistant Halloween décor.
Even if you are short on space it doesn’t mean you need to be short on decorating. Small entries can create big impact by incorporating planting beds and framing an entry path with seasonal decor. Randomly placed candlelit Jack-o-lanterns can lead to the front door casting a welcoming spell. Use window boxes, planters and creative containers to help set the scene for your autumn-inspired display. Try stacking pumpkins to construct topiaries and use lighting to generate mood.

With a little planning you can turn an empty spot in your lawn into a frightful graveyard. Add scary music, faux crows, spider webs, strobe lights and a fog machine to enhance the land of the dead. Have fun creating clever headstone names and sayings such as Doug McGrave or Karie O Key. Hand paint signs on weathered wood to warn trespassers of impending dangers such as: Enter If You Dare, Turn Back, or Beware of Ghosts.
