Looking for a fun family activity after the 4th of July weekend? After you’ve finished the last hot dog and lit the last firecracker, grab the kids and your friends and head to Castleford, Idaho, for the Castleford Classics Motor Jamboree, July 16-17 at Jean’s Park.

Saturday’s events kick off at 11 a.m. with the opening ceremony.  After that, you’ll find mud drags, a chance to ride in a Monster Truck, and a $300 Poker Run. Finish the day with a street dance that starts at 9 p.m.

On Sunday, don’t miss the Show-n-Shine car show, Boomin Audio stereo competition, along with more mud drags and monster truck rides. Music from the 50s and 60s will be played in the park and goody bags will be provided for all who are registered.  You won’t want to miss all the vendors for food and drinks to keep you fueled for the fun.  With kids games such as a Bicycle Show-n-Shine, Dash for Cash and a Ping Pong Ball Hunt, this truly will be a fantastic family outing!

Larry Kimbrough & Marissa Dempsey enjoy a juicy burger at the Castleford event.

To help combat the heat, you’ll find a beer garden in the park, and you won’t want to miss the Adult Tug o’ War at the pits.

Wristlets will be on sale for $3 each, or two for $5, with proceeds going to the Castleford Classics Motor Jamboree Scholarhsip Fund, which grants students from Castleford and Buhl a jump start on their education.  Wristlets will be sold at the show or at TJ’s Lounge, That One Place, First Federal Bank (all in Buhl), or in Castleford at On The Rocks and King and Harts.
